Project “Improving the partnership between business, citizens and local government in the field of local economic development of the municipality of Kyustendil”

We are pleased to inform you that on 30.08.2022 the KYUSTENDIL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY concluded an administrative contract for the provision of grant-in-aid BG05SFOP001-2.025-0149-С01 for the implementation of the Project “Improving the partnership between business, citizens and local government in the sphere of local economic development of the municipality of Kyustendil”. The project is implemented with the financial support of the Operational Program “Good Governance”, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund. The total value of the project is: BGN 59,236.38, of which BGN 50,350.92 European and BGN 8,885.46 national co-financing. The project is implemented in partnership with the Association WE – INDEPENDENT, INNOVATIVE, UNITED. Duration of the project: 12 months BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: The project is based on the principle of creating an effective partnership, which requires the application of consultation and participation mechanisms to ensure the effective inclusion of business and civil society structures in the determination of priorities for development at the municipal level in various public spheres, as well as for decision-making and the implementation of policies aimed at responding to important public needs, as well as for the good functioning of the municipal administration. Therefore, the project aims to initiate and motivate the creation of an environment for effective partnership in the planning and implementation of local economic policies by collecting information and preparing a database on existing mechanisms of business and civil participation in the planning and implementation of investment-related policies , taxation and property management in the Municipality of Kyustendil and a comparative analysis of the real effects of the mechanisms implemented in this way separately for each direction and to assess the extent to which they are applied in practice, in which of the areas of business and civil participation is represented more or less little in order to determine where there is potential to optimize the partnership. MAIN ACTIVITIES: Activity 1 Conducting a survey: Collecting information and preparing a database for existing mechanisms of business and civic participation in planning and implementing policies related to investments, taxation and property management in Kyustendil Municipality Activity 2 Comparative analysis of the opportunities for improving the partnership between business, NGOs, citizens and local government in the three directions, object of study Activity 3 Information activities with the aim of increasing business and citizen participation in the planning and implementation of policies related to investments, taxation and management of property in Kyustendil Municipality EXPECTED RESULTS: Survey report on the current state of the existing environment for effective partnership planning and implementation of local policies regarding investment, taxation and property management. Summarizing report with main conclusions and at least 3 recommendations for each direction /9 items in total/ with the aim of improving the partnership between business, citizens and local government in the field of local economic development, addressed to the municipal administration, Kyustendil OS and BTPP. Conducted an information campaign through an active Facebook page of the project and online publications related to the implementation and results of the project activities.
